4 Square Composite Door
Four equal lights in a two by two block fill the upper half, with one solid panel beneath. It lets in appreciably more light than the two-light shapes and gives the door a contemporary, almost gridded look.
Pick this for a hallway with no other window, or a new build where a traditional panelled door would look out of place.
Four lights in a block put roughly twice the glass area of the two-light shapes into the same leaf. In a hall with no window of its own that is the difference between needing a light on at four in the afternoon and not.
It reads as distinctly modern, which is worth knowing if the house is not. On a Victorian terrace it will look like a recent decision; on a new build or a renovation it looks deliberate.
