2 Panel 2 Square Composite Door
The shape most people picture when they think of a composite front door, and the one suppliers carry the most glass options for. Two solid raised panels take the bottom half, where a door gets kicked and scuffed, and two square lights sit at eye level where you want to see who is at the door.
Pick this if you want light in the hall without a full-height glazed door, and a face that suits almost any house built in the last hundred years.
Because it is the shape suppliers carry the most glass for, it is also the shape you have the most say over. The two square lights can be clear, obscured, leaded or sandblasted, and that single choice changes the door from a modern face to a traditional one without altering a single line of the frame.
The thing to think about is the glass line. The lights sit at roughly standing eye level, so if the door opens onto a pavement rather than a path, obscure glass is worth specifying from the start rather than regretting later.
